Turn a recall around in minutes, not print runs
A GS1 Digital Link QR code is editable after it's printed — so when a batch is affected, you can point it straight at a recall notice, target just the affected lot, and leave everything else untouched.

Why recalls are hard with a static code
A printed EAN barcode — or an ordinary QR code pointing at a fixed URL — can't be changed once it's on the shelf. If something goes wrong with a batch, the code on the pack keeps doing exactly what it did before, and reaching affected customers means channels outside the product itself.
How a dynamic code changes that
- The code is already on the pack. Every product you register carries a GS1 Digital Link code pointing at a destination you control.
- Target the affected batch. Set a rule for the specific lot or batch number (AI 10) — or a best-before date (AI 17) — so only those units redirect.
- Point it at your recall notice. The affected batch now opens your recall page on scan; unaffected stock is untouched, and checkout is unaffected.
- See who's checking. Scan analytics show how many people reached the notice, where and on what device — GDPR-clean.
Beyond recalls: everyday traceability
The same batch and serial data that makes targeted recalls possible also supports everyday traceability. A code can carry a batch or lot number (AI 10) shared across a production run, or a serial number (AI 21) unique to a single unit — so you can tie a scan back to when and where something was made, and tell two units of the same product apart.
Common questions
How fast can I point a code at a recall notice?
As fast as you can edit a link. You change the destination in the dashboard and it propagates to the resolver within seconds — no reprint, no new codes, no waiting on a print run.
Can I recall just one batch?
Yes. Set a rule for the affected lot or batch number (AI 10) and only that batch redirects to your recall notice; every other unit keeps its normal destination.
Does a recall redirect affect the checkout?
No. A point-of-sale scanner reads the GTIN offline from the barcode and never touches our resolver, so ringing up the sale is unaffected. Only a shopper's phone scan follows the redirect.
Do I have to set the recall up in advance?
No — you only need the GS1 Digital Link codes already on your packaging. The destination is editable at any time, so you configure the recall when you need it, not before.
Can I see how many people scanned the recall?
Yes. Scan analytics show volume, place and device for the recall page — with no cookies and no stored IP addresses, so it stays GDPR-clean.
Is it free?
The core is free while we're in beta (including editable destinations and lot rules), and 10 products stay free forever. When billing starts, Pro is £10/month with your own domain on the codes included, and founding members get their first year at half price.
